    An IKBFU PhD student wins silver at the Universiade in Shenzhen

    From August 9 to 24, the Universiade – an international student sports competition was held in the city of Shenzhen (China). Natalia Avdeeva – an IKBFU graduate, a PhD student of Physical Culture and Sports and the only participant from the Kaliningrad region – has been a member of Russia's archery team for several years. This year, in the team championship, Russia's team finished second to the Korean national team. In individual championship, Natalia ranked ninth among 49 participants. In the 2009 Universiade, our team finished second to the Chinese team.

    Natalia's performance at the Universiade is not her only success in 2011. In February, she took part in the Russian Cup and finished second in both team and individual championship. This March, Natalia ranked first as a member of the national team at the European Archery Championship. In April 2011, she finished second in the Russian Cup competition and, in May, ranked third in the World Cup team championship. In June, Natalia helped the national team to finish second at the Russian Championship. On September 3, Natalia will participate in the World Cup competition in Shanghai.
