    IKBFU develops software for solar flare modelling

    IKBFU has obtained copyright of PLASMAT – mathematical software for modelling the evolution of fully ionised plasma, which was developed by Prof Sergey Kshevetsky. The software development brought together experts from IKBFU, Moscow State University, and the University of Gdansk. The programme makes it possible to model solar flare occurrences and identify the flare origins. It is a further step towards developing a model of the Sun.

    IKBFU scholars to develop Guidelines for the sustainable development of the Vistula Lagoon.

    On December 12, the Maritime Institute in Gdansk hosted a meeting on the development of Guidelines for the Sustainable Development of the Vistula Lagoon. It brought together Polish and Russian experts, including those from IKBFU. The Guideline development is part of the two-year international project Opportunities and Benefits of Joint Use of the Vistula Lagoon co-financed by the EU. The experts identified the 2018 FIFA World Cup as one of the scenarios of the Vistula Lagoon development.
