On December 13-15, 2018, the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University in collaboration with the International Research Centre “Coherent X-ray optics for Mega-science installations”, which head is Dr Anatoly Snigirev, will organize a workshop on “Synchrotron radiation sources of the 4th generation: optics and applications”.

The workshop will highlight the modern trends in the development of coherent X-ray optics and the latest research methods, as well as their applications in the synchrotron sources of the 4th generation. Lectures for young researchers and students will be given by the leading world scientists from Russia, Germany and France.

Last week, in Novosibirsk, where the building of the first Russian synchrotron source of the 4th generation is going to be started in 2019, the workshop “Mega-science installations for the fundamental and applied research” was held. The members of the International Research Centre attended the workshop. In turn, a large delegation of the IKBFU colleagues from Novosibirsk will participate in the next workshop on December 13-15, 2018. They will tell the researchers from the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University about Skiff, a new synchrotron source of the 4th generation.
