Students from fifteen Russian universities and they peers from China and Tajikistan have gathered at the IKBFU to discuss the quality of higher education. The forum started its winter session on December 2.
F.R.E.S.H. stands for Friendship, Rest, Education, Science, and the Humanities. When this student-run discussion forum first launched in 2010, it only had ten participants (all of them from Russia), today it’s a large international event, and the number of students in attendance exceeds one hundred.
According to the project leader, Alisa Krasnova, the topics for discussion change for each forum: “Last spring we focused on career development for the graduates, now it’s quality of education. This time, we have invited experts from the all-Russian movement Towards Quality Education. The leader of the movement, Antony Shvindt, and the heads of two committees within the movement, Svetlana Volkova and Ivan Nikonorov, are joining us for the discussion”.
Winter F.R.E.S.H. has planned a number of lectures, plenary sessions and interactive discussion platforms for its participants. The topics range from “Global educational challenges” and “Bologna in Russia” to “E-learning as a global trend in university education”.
