    Advanced training at the Institute Europeen des relations publiques

    Members of the Department of Speech Communication and Journalism undertook advanced training at the leading research centre for mass communication - Institute Europeen des relations publiques in Paris – in the framework of IKBFU's development programme. Famous French experts on communicative technologies organised workshops, master classes and brainstorming sessions for colleagues from IKBFU.

Famous French experts on communicative technologies organised workshops, master classes and brainstorming sessions for colleagues from IKBFU.

    In the framework of advanced training programme, the European public relations doctrine was presented by its founder Philippe Boiry, a knight of the Order of the Legion of Honour, a fellow of the Academy of Moral and Political Sciences, the author of famous monographs on PR. The classic of event management, Jean-Francois Flahault, spoke of practical communication with leading international brands. Another master class was held at the office of the largest international insurance company – Allianz. The master class focused on the characteristics of financial communication and featured a presentation of communicative promotional and positioning practices. A highlight of the advanced training programme was a meeting with the classic of contemporary European advertising, a holder of a number of professional awards, the vice president of havas-EuroRSCG, Jacques Séguela. Mr. Séguela addressed the concept of modern mass communication and spoke of his experience in the field of advertising. Assaël Adary, a professor of Sorbonne University, focused on the models for PR effectiveness measurement and gave a master class. The programme concluded with a brainstorming session on geobranding.

    An agreement on cooperation between IKBFU and Institute Europeen des relations publiques was signed in the framework of advanced training programme. On the Russian side, the agreement was signed by IKBFU's vice rector for academic activities Irina Kuksa, on the French side, by Jacques Séguela. The agreement covers the implementation of joint academic and research projects. The first initiative to be held in this field will be the 2012 international Summer school at IKBFU.

    As a result of the advanced training programme, the staff of Department of Speech Communication and Journalism have committed to developing new training courses (such as event management, European PR and mass communication doctrine, geobranding, etc), as well as preparing the curricula for the geobranding international master's programme.
