Ye. Alekseenko’s research is dedicated to algebraic curves and both contains new mathematical results in the field of building “extreme mathematical objects” over finite fields and outlines the prospects of applying them within coding theory.

The contest jury – this year presided by Pierre Deligne, one of the world’s most renowned mathematicians, a laureate of the Abel Prize (“the mathematician’s Nobel Prize”) – highly commended the innovatory approach of our colleague.
