The IKBFU has broken into the top 140 universities, jumping from 185th to 137th place in the QS Emerging Europe and Central Asia ranking. The ranking evaluates over 500 universities from Russia, Turkey, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Kyrgyzstan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Belarus.
The ranking adopts nine indicators, including academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty/student ratio, international students, papers per faculty, citations per paper, staff with a PhD, and Web impact.
Andrey Kelmeshev, Rector of the IKBFU: ‘The ranking gives us a new perspective on our work and achievements. This is crucial in a changing world. Today, we are updating our internationalisation policy and launching new alumni initiatives’.
