Igor Nosikov Igor Nosikov, a postgraduate student of the Institute of Physics, Mathematics and Information Technologies, has won the Young Scientist Award of the URSI Asia-Pacific Radio Science International Conference. The conference was held in Seoul (South Korea) on August 21 – 25, 2016.
The URSI AP-RASC is a triennial international conference in the field of radio science, where experts from all over the world gather to share their knowledge and experience, and to encourage scientific exchange and fellowship amongst industry colleagues and professionals globally. The programme of the conference provided numerous opportunities for participants to exchange new ideas on many important issues in radio science and related issues.
The contest for young researchers organized under the umbrella of the conference was held in two rounds. Participants from Korea, Japan, USA, China and Russia were among semi-finalists. I.Nosikov, M.Klimenko, P.Bessarab and G. Zhbankova, members of the IKBFU delegation made a presentation of their work on the application of variational methods in the study of radio communication.
