The Organizing Committee of the Sixth All-Russian Science Festival NAUKA 0+ identified cities that will become the principal regional sites for the Science Festival. Kaliningrad, Irkutsk and Barnaul have become the three cities to be selected.

While main events of NAUKA 0+ will be held there, more than 80 other cities of Russia will join in the Festival this year.

According to Artem Yurov, vice-rector for research of the IKBFU,

it was the combination of two factors that ensured Kaliningrad's nomination and subsequent victory. First, the recent Science Fest, Edge of the Future, helped form the team that can successfully implement projects of this kind. Second, the authority of the IKBFU as the populariser of science (with its Minute Science project, School of Research Journalism and other initiatives)and the dynamics of the IKBFU development convinced the Organising Committee that we can cope with this difficult task, and will be able to hold the All-Russian Science Festival at a very high level.

NAUKA 0+ will be held in Kaliningrad this autumn, its exact dates will be announced later. The Festival will feature the exposition of the latest breakthroughs in science and technology, vibrant research shows, lectures of Nobel Prize winners as well as meetings with the leading Russian and international scientists, exciting discussions, and much more. Admission to all NAUKA 0+ events is free.
