Professor Michael Farle, leader of the FunMagMa strategic initiative at the IKBFU, has just been awarded a 2017 Distinguished Lecturer title by the IEEE Magnetics.

In this capacity, he will be visiting host universities and organizations around the world to give lectures on Functionalized Hybrid Nanomagnets: New Materials for Innovations in Energy Storage and Medical Theranostics.

Professor Farle is one of four people to receive the prestigious title. The other Distinguished Lecturers of 2017 are Xiaofeng Jin from the Fudan University (China), Hendrik Ohldag from the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory (USA), and Eiji Saitoh from the Tohoku University (Japan).

All speakers were chosen on the basis of international reputation for excellence in their respective fields, speaking acumen, and the widespread interest within the greater magnetics community of their proposed lecture topics.
