Students of the Faculty of Medicine visit Germany

For the first time, second year students of IKBFU’s Faculty of Medicine visited Germany in the framework of a cooperation agreement with the University of Lübeck. From July 7 through 28, Yekaterina Korobeinikova, Artur Brovin, Fyodor Paramzin, and Margarita Shalimova worked as nurse assistant at the hospital of Lübeck, practically applying the knowledge they had obtained over the two years spent at the University – they measured blood pressure, took blood samples, operated infusion devices, attended to patients, and even sat in on surgeries. Alongside a pass in summer practical classes, Yekaterina says, the students gained significant professional and language experience. “Everything is different there. It was as if we had found ourselves in a different world, where medics are friendly to patients and care for them, come at first call, even if the patient just needs their bed adjusted. In their healthcare system, even nurses earn decent wages, which helps them treat their job differently”.
