The Baltic Region journal, published in IKBFU, has been included in the Web of Science Russian Science Citation Index.

The Web of Science is an online scientific citation indexing service that provides access to multiple databases that reference cross-disciplinary research.
The journal is a forum for experts in social sciences and allows for an exchange of professional opinions in a variety of fields.

The Baltic Region addresses topical issues related to sustainable development of the Baltic  Sea region and cross-border cooperation.
Since 2009,  many scholars from Russia and abroad have published their articles in the journal.

Artyom Yurov, vice-rector for research, I.Kant Baltic Federal University:

"This is an extremely important event for us. The research level of any university is determined, first and foremost, by the number of publications in highly ranked journals. i.e. journals having an internationally renowned editorial board and, consequently, a high impact factor.  The Baltic Region integration into the Web of Science database is a sign of international recognition. We are happy to note that the number of IKBFU publications in peer-reviewed and indexed journals has increased fivefold for the last two years.

The Baltic Region has been published since 2009.

All issues of the journal are indexed in the Web of Science Russian Science Citation database.
