Prof Mark Entin, head of the Department of European Law at Moscow State Institute of International Relations, delivered a public lecture ‘Trends in the development of EU and EAU integration law and prospects of a Universal Big Eurasian Partnership’ at the IKBFU. The lecture focused on the evolution of the EU, political and legal challenges faced by Russia, and the country’s geopolitical development within a Universal Big Eurasian Partnership.
The urgency of such a project was stressed by President Putin. At the Saint Petersburg International Forum, he put forward the idea of creating a Big Eurasian Partnership bringing together China, India, Pakistan, Iran, CIS countries, and some other states.
Prof Mark Entin:
‘The goal of the Eurasian Economic Union is a search for a model of economic and legal development that would not create divides or contradict general economic, legal, and political trends… The Eurasian Economic Union and, in the future, the Universal Big Eurasian Partnership will foster relations and conduct legal regulation to attain synergy without harming others.
